Meanwhile, the VET Student Outcomes 2022 reported that most VET students experienced improved employment status after training. In 2022, the proportions with improved employment status were:

  • 65.0% for qualification completers.
  • 58.7% for qualification part-completers.
  • 59.4% for short course completers.
  • 64.6% for short course part-completers.
  • 62.2% for subject(s) only completers.

The satisfaction rate among VET students remained high in 2022, with 88.9% of qualification completers and 92.1% of short course completers reporting satisfaction with their training overall. The satisfaction rate was slightly lower for qualification part-completers (76.7%) and subject(s) only completers (92.4%).

These findings suggest that RTO standards have positively impacted the VET industry in Australia, as VET students have reported high levels of satisfaction with their training and improved employment outcomes.
