Mining and metallurgical laboratories rely on controlled fire pouring to transfer molten assay materials safely and consistently during precious-metal analysis. For your RTO, MSL973023 creates a specialised training opportunity for laboratory technicians, supporting mining-sector pathways and extending practical delivery options.

  • Industry relevance: Fire assay laboratories use these techniques when pouring molten charge from furnaces or crucibles into moulds for separation and analysis.
  • Training pathway: The unit supports pathways into laboratory operations, mineral analysis, metallurgy and technical roles across mining and resources.
  • Practical learner outcomes: Learners develop the ability to prepare work areas, handle hot materials, control pouring movements and produce suitable assay products safely.
  • Scope growth opportunity: It is a logical addition for RTOs delivering laboratory, resource-processing or analytical training that want a focused capability with industry value.

Editable files, learner materials, assessment tools and mapping documents support structured delivery, helping RTOs purchase MSL973023 training resources efficiently; explore the available materials.

Built Around Real Workplace Contexts

The Standards for RTOs require training and assessment to reflect genuine workplace conditions, safe work practices and current industry expectations. For MSL973023 Perform fire pouring techniques, this means learners need opportunities to apply procedures in realistic environments where molten materials, specialised equipment and controlled pouring processes are part of normal work.

Our MSL973023 training materials help trainers connect learning with genuine workplace activities, including preparing furnaces and moulds, checking equipment, selecting and using personal protective equipment, transferring molten material, controlling the pour, responding to hazards and completing workplace documentation.

Fire Assay Laboratories

In fire assay laboratories, learners may pour molten assay material from crucibles into prepared moulds while managing heat, spills, fumes and sample identification requirements. MSL973023 RTO training materials help trainers contextualise activities around laboratory procedures, furnace operation, mould preparation, safe handling and accurate recording of results.

Mine-Site Assay Facilities

Mine-site laboratories use fire pouring techniques to process samples efficiently while maintaining strict controls for safety, traceability and quality. The MSL973023 training resources support workplace-based learning through activities involving pre-start inspections, coordination with other personnel, emergency responses, cooling and handling of poured material, and completion of site records.

Metallurgical Testing and Refining Operations

Metallurgical testing and refining operations require consistent pouring techniques to produce usable samples and prevent contamination, equipment damage or injury. MSL973023 learning materials help trainers adapt learning and assessment to local procedures, including furnace and crucible checks, temperature control, pour sequencing, housekeeping and documentation of completed work.

Any Delivery Mode

The editable RTO resources support classroom delivery, workplace delivery, blended learning and online delivery. Trainers can contextualise learning activities, examples and assessments for their learner cohort, workplace equipment, operating procedures and level of industry experience.

Just sharing my experience with these resources. The resources that we have purchased from RTO Learning Materials were expectional during audit and mainly when these were implemented with trainers and students. At start it was a bit hard for our trainer's to fully absorb these resources as they are very detailed as compared to the old ones that we have been using but once trainers were able to complete their learning it was a piece of cake to collect and collate evidence from students. Furthermore, during our pre-validation meetings we have also observed that the learning component is very well covered thereby providing enough information for our trainers to keep students engaged at all times. I would also like to highlight a staff member from sales team 'Mr. Amar Shah' who has been exceptional in his service and goes beyond his call of duty. Thank you Amar and RTO Learning Materials for all your support. Regards, Amit Thakur
