Constructing reinforced brick and blockwork gives learners practical capability to build load-bearing walls, columns, piers and other masonry elements from plans and specifications. For your RTO, CPCCBL3013 creates a valuable pathway unit for learners preparing for structural masonry work in residential and commercial construction.

  • Industry relevance: These skills are applied on building sites where masons construct structural walls, install reinforcement and integrate lintels, beams and openings.
  • Training pathway: The unit supports bricklaying and masonry qualifications, apprenticeships and progression into broader structural construction roles.
  • Practical learner outcomes: Learners develop the ability to interpret plans, set out work, select materials and construct stable masonry systems to workplace specifications.
  • Scope growth opportunity: It is a logical addition for RTOs delivering bricklaying, blocklaying or construction training and seeking stronger structural content.

Our CPCCBL3013 training resources include editable files, learner materials, assessment tools and assessor guidance to support structured delivery. Explore the available RTO materials.

Built Around Real Workplace Contexts

The Standards for RTOs require training and assessment to reflect genuine workplace conditions, current industry expectations and the way tasks are performed on site. For this unit, learners need opportunities to apply construction methods, follow workplace procedures and produce masonry work that meets structural, safety and quality requirements.

Our CPCCBL3013 Construct masonry structural systems training materials help trainers connect learning with genuine workplace activities, including interpreting plans and specifications, setting out work, selecting materials, preparing mortar, constructing walls, installing ties and reinforcement, checking levels and plumb, and reporting defects or variations. The activities support practical discussion around sequencing, safe equipment use, inspections and documentation.

Residential Construction Sites

Residential building projects provide a realistic setting for constructing load-bearing masonry walls, piers, openings and related structural elements while coordinating work with other trades.

CPCCBL3013 training resources help trainers contextualise learning around site plans, footing and slab conditions, material handling, wall set-out, mortar application, tolerances and quality checks commonly required on housing projects.

Commercial Building Projects

Commercial construction sites involve larger structural masonry tasks, more detailed documentation and coordination with supervisors, engineers and other construction teams.

Trainers can use CPCCBL3013 RTO training materials to frame activities around reading structural drawings, following specifications, installing reinforcement and wall ties, managing work sequences, completing inspections and communicating variations or site issues.

Masonry Contracting and Remediation Work

Masonry contractors may construct, alter or repair structural masonry in existing buildings, where access, temporary support, matching materials and site safety require careful planning.

The CPCCBL3013 learning materials support contextualised scenarios involving condition checks, measuring and calculating quantities, selecting suitable materials, controlling hazards, documenting completed work and resolving defects in consultation with clients or project supervisors.

Any Delivery Mode

The editable resources support classroom delivery, workplace delivery, blended learning and online delivery. Trainers can contextualise learning activities, examples and assessments for their learner cohort, including the construction projects, equipment, documentation and workplace procedures relevant to their delivery environment.

Hear What RTOs Say About Our Awesome RTO Training Materials

Just sharing my experience with these resources. The resources that we have purchased from RTO Learning Materials were expectional during audit and mainly when these were implemented with trainers and students. At start it was a bit hard for our trainer's to fully absorb these resources as they are very detailed as compared to the old ones that we have been using but once trainers were able to complete their learning it was a piece of cake to collect and collate evidence from students. Furthermore, during our pre-validation meetings we have also observed that the learning component is very well covered thereby providing enough information for our trainers to keep students engaged at all times. I would also like to highlight a staff member from sales team 'Mr. Amar Shah' who has been exceptional in his service and goes beyond his call of duty. Thank you Amar and RTO Learning Materials for all your support. Regards, Amit Thakur
